Patrick Reed is a freelance media professional specializing in broadcast talent, voiceover and video production.
With skills honed across different communication disciplines over the past 15 years – Patrick provides high-quality broadcast presentation as a play-by-play broadcaster, host, reporter and voice performer; video production and editing services for television, social media and special events; and media consultation and production practices for businesses and organizations.
Following a formal education in print journalism at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Va.), Patrick gained experience in collegiate athletics public relations and the television news industry for the next eight years. Patrick served in athletics media relations roles at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Md.) and Radford University (Radford, Va.), separated by a two-year stint as an assignment desk editor and associate producer at WLTX-TV in Columbia, S.C.
During his time at Radford and later at Marquette University (Milwaukee, Wis.), Patrick became the first on-campus athletic video professional at both schools, designing video operations from the ground up. In both instances, Patrick worked with limited funding and staffing, relying on teaching and networking skills to build student staffs, while developing strategies and protocols still in use at those institutions today. Operating as a “one-man-band”, Patrick was solely responsible for the production of 200-300 pieces of video content and live events per year for the web, social media, television, venues and special programming.
After hours, Patrick worked at his secondary craft – broadcast presentation – by taking on a variety of on-air roles in television, radio, and the web. Since 2014, Patrick has worked in regular assignments and fill-in appearances for networks and teams including the BIG EAST Conference, Milwaukee Admirals, Learfield/IMG College, FOX Sports regional networks, NBC Sports Chicago, FS1, ESPN and Westwood One Radio.
Patrick grew up in Roanoke, Va., and has lived in Milwaukee for eight years.
